Nine-year-old Bosco, a Beagle-mix, disappeared from his residence in Westerley, Rhode Island. It seems the curious pup had wriggled out of his collar for a little neighborhood exploration adventure but unfortunately couldn’t make it back home.

A father named Bill Ballato, who has a back disability, searched high and low for his beloved dog Bosco, but to no avail. After months of searching through missing posters and reaching out to people, Bill was heartbroken as there was no sign of his furry friend.

When Bill had to relocate to Lafayette, Colorado, he was worried that he might never be reunited with Bosco. More than 2 years had gone by since Bosco went missing, and the chances of finding him seemed slim.

However, there was a miraculous turn of events when residents in Rhode Island spotted Bosco, recognizing him from the missing posters. Although Bosco was living on the streets and had become wary of people, there was hope for a reunion with his loving owner, Bill.

After hearing from the local residents, Sheilah Graham, a dedicated member of the Department of Homeland Security, who also goes by the title of “pet detective” due to her passion for finding lost animals, reached out to Bill to gather more details about Bosco. Thanks to her quick thinking and a clever trap baited with all of Bosco’s favorite treats, she was able to successfully locate and capture the missing pet.

On Facebook, the heartwarming story of Bosco’s journey home was shared by Sheilah. She explained that due to Bill’s disability, he couldn’t travel to get Bosco himself. Knowing that Bosco, being a senior dog, couldn’t fly either, Sheilah selflessly offered to drive 2000 miles over 36 hours to reunite them. Despite facing two snowstorms during the trip, she made sure to take excellent care of Bosco along the way. Her kind act brought tears to many eyes on social media.
